Covered in Grape Juice...BAAAAAK!
Hey Y'all,
The chickens absolutely LOVE grapes, but in their eagerness to out do one another, they jump in my lap and sling grape guts and juice all over me. I have to come inside and change clothes after a grape fest. I get them cheap at the grocery, just before they rot, so they are soft to begin with. Heck, I should put them in the bath tub and start stomping...
My friend Terre, brought her New Your City friends here last weekend and I think they might have been a bit...overwhelmed at the 'friendliness' of said chickens. That day, we were enjoying Moist and Meaty dog treats...sort of like Gaines Burgers, but in shreds. Nothing as messy as grapes, but I bet she took a shower anyway when they returned to the hotel...
I had to take Sookie to hospital to repair her surgical incision. I felt something amiss Wednesday so I got her in that day and Dr. Martinez took care of her Friday. She is sharing the room with Ichabod and he's none too please with her constant complaining about being in the crate by herself. She and Bill are typical kitties, which means I need to be careful with her for a week or so.
The back of my chair is their favorite hang out
Bill's cute self
Could this be why my desk is always a mess?
My very cool friend Dianne, customized this here goose bust to look just like Johnson! Thank you ever so much!
Gosh...was it TWO years ago that I met Adrienne Myles and her injured Barred owl? Either one or two, but she has so generously donated a painting of "Myles" to be auctioned off at the fund raiser, along with a beautiful painting of a Burrowing owl. Anyway, dear Myles didn't look both ways before he crossed the street and had an eye boo-boo. He stayed with me for a while until he was up to snuff, then I returned him to her yard for release. I try very hard to include the Good Samaritan in the release, after all, if it weren't for them, I wouldn't have any birds to care for! It isn't stretched and not yet in it's frame, so the photo doesn't do it justice.
Two years ago today, I buried David down by the pond. Big Lots is having their summer sale so I bought another frog to add to his grave. I miss him every day and twice on Sunday. He would stick his foot in my drink if I left him alone long enough, so I thought this frog a fitting tribute.
The chickens stopped by to pay their respects...
David swiping the last swallow of my milk. Would to God, I would give him the whole cow to once again here his purr that sounded for the world like a rusty swing...
He was a funny cat, more like a human in cat's pajamas
He always smiled when he slept, like he was chasing frogs or butterflies...
Now, he is just beyond the veil and always at the ready when someone needs escorting across the Rainbow Bridge, be it human or animal...he is there to help. I can't wait to see him and Mina and Mo, along with my momma and daddy. One day, we will all be together again and everyone will be whole, happy and healthy. Oh, happy day!
As new life comes from death
Love will come at leisure
Love of love, love of life
And giving without measure
Gives in return a wondrous yearn
Of a promise almost seen
Live hand in hand
And together we will stand
On the threshold of a dream
Moody Blues
Thank you for taking the time to read my blog and I appreciate very much the Mou$e Money that you have donated. I am a loner, but not an island and I cannot make it without your help....m.

It's always a happy time when I read your blog. Love the animals and feel the same way about our two antique cats. We'll see yu at the charity event.
David was so beautiful and those photos show a lot of cat-personality!
