So the poor baby has a break at the joint which means......cringe.....euthanasia? I think this has been the month of Barred owls. Well...I hope GW will make it, but I remember from your previous post that a break in the joint of the wing means euthanasia, so I'm not getting my hopes up. I feel for you, what an emotional rollercoaster you must ride everyday...I would need some STRONG hot toddies and ciggies everyday! God bless you, you should get what we used to call hazardous duty pay (army talk) anyway, you and your birds are always in my thoughts. One of my Black Australorp hens has broken her leg somehow, and the poor thing gets around...I know that I should have put her down, didn't have the heart to b/c she has such determination to get around....I've done what I can for her...brought her inside for a couple of days to keep her warm, she's eating like a pig...she's such a sweetie...take care, my prayers are w/you, GW, Stacy, Wally, and all of your birds... Hugs D.
I learned a valuable lesson last year during one of the snows; I let my girls out (as usual during the day because they love to free rabge) and three lost their way, one was a Black Australorp. :( Apparently they go snow blind and disoriented.
